The North Western Province of Sri Lanka, also known as Wayamba, is a diverse and thriving region that includes the districts of Kurunegala and Puttalam. It is well known for its agricultural productivity, particularly coconut, paddy, and spice cultivation, as well as fishing and salt production along the coastal areas.

Kurunegala, the provincial capital, has historical significance as a former royal capital, with nearby rock outcrops and temples bearing ancient ruins and legends. Puttalam, on the other hand, is a coastal district rich in natural resources and biodiversity, including lagoons, mangroves, and wildlife. The province also has a multicultural population, contributing to a vibrant blend of religious and cultural traditions.
